About Us
Light Weight Garden Tillers, Garden Sprayers, Post Hole Drills and Kee Lawn Mowers
The founders of Hoffco grew up on a 40 acre homestead known as Stony Gulch, just outside Richmond, Indiana. One of their jobs was to keep the property weeded. Because the land was hilly with lots of trees and stones, you couldn't use any weed cutting equipment with wheels and had do to the chore by hand. The desire to make this chore easier is what inspired Steve Hoff with the innovative idea to combine a scythe with an outboard motor engine. Thus, the birth of the power Scythette, which was the forerunner of today’s brush cutters. The power Scythette used a flexible drive shaft, which is still a common design in today’s line trimmers.
In 2004, Hoffco acquired Kee Mowers. For nearly 50 years, Kee Mowers has been making life easier for lawn care professionals.
